Editorial Policy
By the TheyShoot editorial team. Updated
Every tip on TheyShoot is chosen by a named person and checked before it is published. This page explains how we make tips, how we use AI, how we check facts and how we correct mistakes.
How tips are made
- The pick, the odds and the confidence rating are always set by a named tipster, never by software alone.
- We record the odds available when the tip is published. Tips lock at kick-off or the off and can't be edited after.
- Every tip is logged in our public tip record, win or lose.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to help gather facts and draft articles. No AI draft is published directly. An editor reviews every article, checks every fact against its sources and approves it before it goes live. The analysis and the pick are the tipster's.
How we check facts
- Key facts such as injuries, suspensions and kick-off times need two independent sources, or one primary source such as the club, league or broadcaster.
- We report facts in our own words and link to the sources we relied on. Quotes are short and attributed.
- Rumours are labelled as rumours, with the outlet that reported them.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and say so on the page. Significant corrections are listed in our corrections log. To report an error, email hello@theyshoot.com.
What we never do
- Promise guaranteed or "sure" wins.
- Let a commercial partner choose or change a tip.
- Delete losing tips from the record.
