How American odds work
A plus number is the profit on a $100 bet: +250 wins $250. A minus number is the stake needed to win $100: −150 means you bet $150 to win $100. To convert to decimal, divide a plus number by 100 and add 1 (+250 → 3.50), or divide 100 by a minus number and add 1 (−150 → 1.67).
Sport Select and Proline publish odds as decimals; most North American sportsbooks show American odds by default.
Implied probability
Implied probability is 1 ÷ decimal odds. At −150 (1.67) that's 60%; at +250 (3.50) it's 28.6%. Use the margin calculator to see the bookmaker's edge in a whole market.
